Professional Archiving by Gerry
Every community, congregation, and organization has a story worth protecting. Over decades of growth, however, vital historical records, meeting minutes, photographs, architectural plans, and cherished memorabilia often end up tucked away in boxes, basements, or forgotten closets. Without a clear system, it's easy for valuable history to become inaccessible when it's needed most.
That's where professional archiving comes in.
I help organizations turn uncataloged, vulnerable collections into orderly, preserved, and usable archives. Whether your group is preparing for a major milestone anniversary, looking to safeguard vital governance and property records, or seeking to establish an accessible on-site archive room, I provide hands-on expertise to organize and protect your heritage.
How I can help?
Survey and sorting: Conducting comprehensive initial assessments of physical storage areas, identifying critical historical assets, and systematically sorting materials into clear, logical categories.
Archive room design and setup: Transforming designated storage rooms into clean, functional, and organized working archive spaces equipped with proper archival housing.
Master cataloging and inventorying: Building detailed, easy-to-navigate master inventories so leadership and future researchers can locate documents, ledgers, and artifacts quickly.
Governance and institutional compliance: Ensuring official governing records, minutes, registers, and legal documentation are properly inventoried in line with institutional retention standards.
Anniversary and research curation: Uncovering and organizing key photographs, print media, and commemorative assets to highlight your community's legacy for centennial celebrations, exhibits, and publications.
Let’s preseverve yesterday for tomorrow!
Your history is more than just paper in storage. It's the foundation of your identity and mission. With careful attention to detail and respect for every artifact, I work alongside your team to ensure your legacy remains safe, structured, and ready to inspire future generations.
